I have been practising as a Counselling Psychologist for the past 3 years under the guidance of Ms. Rajani Nandakumar. I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology and a Masters in Gender and development studies. I am equipped as a POSH trainer and can conduct and participate in handling cases as an external committee member. I have completed a course in marital therapy under Dr. Nappinai. I counsel couples who face challenges in their relationship. I also counsel new mothers who experience post-partum depression.
I have been associated as a volunteer with a suicide prevention organization since 2018. This gave me the opportunity to extend counselling services to young children and adolescents who face challenges related to academics, identity issues, family issues, relationship issues and so on. I have also had the opportunity to extend counselling services to people going through gender related issues. Currently I am on a short break.
Working with clients from various backgrounds and culture has helped me understand and identify the issues that the current generation is going through. My academics in Gender studies has given me the opportunity to extend counselling services to the LGBTQIA+ community.
I am fluent communicating in Tamil, English and Hindi. I understand and speak Bengali to some extent.
