Application Window and Key Deadlines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official Information Bulletin for NEET (UG) – 2026 and opened the online registration window from February 8, 2026, to March 8, 2026 (up to 9:00 PM) through the official portal https://neet.nta.nic.in. The information bulletin, dated February 8, 2026, confirms that candidates must complete the entire application process – registration, form fill-up, document upload and fee payment – within this period, with fee payment allowed until March 8, 2026, 11:50 PM.

The official schedule further specifies that the NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted on May 3, 2026 (Sunday) in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in pen-and-paper (offline) mode across designated centres in India and abroad. NTA – https://neet.nta.nic.in; Testbook – https://testbook.com/neet A dedicated correction window will be available from March 10, 2026 to March 12, 2026 for candidates to rectify permissible fields in their application forms before admit cards are issued.

Exam Schedule, Mode and Key Instructions

According to the NEET UG 2026 Information Bulletin, the test duration will be 180 minutes (3 hours), with the paper held exclusively in offline OMR-based format on May 3, 2026. NTA – https://neet.nta.nic.in; Testbook – https://testbook.com/neet The bulletin reiterates the familiar structure of Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections with a total of 180 questions carrying 720 marks, and clarifies eligibility, reservation and city-wise centre allocation norms for MBBS, BDS and allied health programmes.

Students are advised to download and carefully read the complete NEET UG 2026 Information Bulletin from the official website before applying, noting that NTA will communicate all updates only through https://neet.nta.nic.in and https://nta.ac.in. As the registration period from February 8, 2026, to March 8, 2026 is strictly time-bound and the correction window from March 10–12, 2026, is limited, NEET aspirants should complete their forms well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

In a major evaluation reform, CBSE has notified the introduction of On‑Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 answer scripts from the 2026 boards, through an official circular dated February 9, 2026, circulated via https://cbse.gov.in. Under this system, Class 12 answer sheets will be scanned and evaluated digitally on secure platforms, while Class 10 answer books will continue to be marked in physical mode.

The circular highlights benefits such as elimination of totalling errors, reduced manual handling, faster evaluation timelines and reduced need for post‑result verification of marks. CBSE – https://www.cbse.gov.in; Times of India – https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com Schools have been directed to ensure adequate computer infrastructure, reliable internet connectivity and trained teachers for participation in OSM evaluation, with CBSE promising multiple dry runs, webinars and a dedicated helpdesk before marking begins.
