IIT Madras and Vertiv Partner to Upskill India’s Digital Workforce

IIT Madras has partnered with Vertiv, a global leader in data centre critical infrastructure, and Pravartak Technologies Foundation to upskill over 2,000 STEM students across India. Announced on October 6, this initiative leverages a 35-hour self-paced online course in data centre operations and maintenance, covering O&M essentials, power management, thermal optimisation, and critical digital infrastructure.

From this initial training cohort, 160 students will progress to a 5-day immersive programme on the IIT Madras campus, earning a coveted Certified Intelligent Data Centre-Operations & Maintenance (CIDC-O&M) certification. The curriculum blends theory, industry case studies, hands-on skills, and exposure to predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, and emerging technologies, aiming to boost the employability of graduates in India's expanding digital infrastructure sector.

The program is supported by IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems funded by the Department of Science and Technology.

IIT Madras NIPTA: National Employability Benchmark Initiative

IIT Madras has launched the National Internship and Placement Talent Assessment (NIPTA), India's largest benchmark test to standardise job-readiness and internship skills for students nationwide. The NIPTA aims to help companies fairly assess candidates' employability, bridge campus-to-corporate skill gaps, and set a national standard for job readiness, especially as India's youth prepare for a rapidly changing global job market.

The initiative will issue employability certificates, support robust campus-internship matching, and offer detailed benchmarking for institutions seeking to improve graduate outcomes at scale.

SSC Launches Verified X (Twitter) Handle for Exam Updates

The Staff Selection Commission has officially launched its X (formerly Twitter) handle, @SSC_GoI, to provide verified, timely updates on exam schedules, results, and government job notifications. Candidates, parents, and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to follow only this official account to avoid misinformation. The SSC has also enhanced exam transparency by allowing students to view and store their question papers and answers after the examination (with certain exceptions for security during multi-shift tests).

This social media initiative aims to improve direct communication with exam takers, ensuring candidates receive real-time, authentic information about recruitment, schedules, and results, countering the rise of fake handles and misinformation on social media.
