DGCA to Rank Flying Training Organisations Twice a Year Starting October 2025
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will introduce a biannual ranking system for Flying Training Organisations (FTOs) across India beginning October 1, 2025. The ranking will classify flying schools into four categories — A++, A+, A, and B — based on parameters including safety, training quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
This initiative aims to standardise pilot training quality, enhance transparency, and empower aspiring pilots to make informed choices. Schools rated “B” will receive advisories to improve their performance. The DGCA will publish rankings every April 1 and October 1, relying on data audits and inspections to ensure accuracy.
This move is expected to foster a culture of continuous improvement, improve safety outcomes, and support the sustainable growth of India’s aviation sector.
