CUET PG 2026 Registration Deadline Approaches

The National Testing Agency has announced that the registration window for Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2026 will close on January 14, 2026. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programs at premier institutions including University of Delhi, TISS, JNU, and BHU must complete their applications by 11:50 PM on January 14. The application process commenced on December 14, 2025, and over four lakh candidates are expected to appear for the examination. A correction window will be available from January 18 to January 20, 2026, allowing applicants to modify submitted details. The examination is scheduled to be conducted in computer-based mode across multiple cities in India.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Admit Card Release Imminent

The National Testing Agency will release JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit cards three to four days before the examination dates. With the examination window set for January 21-30, 2026, candidates can expect their hall tickets to become available starting January 17 or 18. The admit cards will be accessible through the official portal jeemain.nta.nic.in using application numbers and date of birth. Session 1 results are scheduled for declaration by February 12, 2026, providing unsuccessful candidates an opportunity to attempt Session 2 scheduled for April 2-9, 2026. Approximately 12 lakh candidates have registered for the engineering entrance examination that determines admission to IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

GATE 2026 Examination Schedule Confirmed

IIT Guwahati will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The examination will be held in two shifts each day: forenoon session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Admit cards for the approximately 8 lakh registered candidates were released in the first week of January 2026. The examination will be conducted across 235 centers spanning eight IIT zones. Results will be declared on March 19, 2026, serving as the gateway for admissions to postgraduate engineering programs and recruitment in Public Sector Units.

NEET UG 2026 Notification Expected This Month

Medical aspirants awaiting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 notification can expect its release in January 2026. The examination, which attracts over 18 lakh candidates annually, is tentatively scheduled for May 3, 2026. Based on historical patterns, the registration process typically commences in February and extends through March. The single-largest medical entrance examination in India will be conducted in offline mode for admissions to MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc, and AYUSH courses across government and private medical institutions.

SSC Exam Calendar 2026-27 Released

The Staff Selection Commission released its tentative examination calendar for the 2026-27 recruitment cycle on January 8, 2026. The comprehensive schedule covers major examinations including Combined Graduate Level (CGL), General Duty (GD), and Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) examinations. Candidates preparing for government sector recruitment can now access the detailed timeline to plan their preparation strategies accordingly.

The Punjab government launched Mission Pragati to provide free coaching for competitive examinations including JEE Main and Advanced 2026, specifically targeting students from government schools. In Rajasthan, severe cold wave conditions prompted district administrations to extend winter vacations and modify school timings. Jaipur announced school closures for classes 1-5 on January 12-13, while Sikar extended holidays until January 17 for primary classes. Delhi schools continue winter vacation closures through January 15, 2026.

International Education Updates

Indian students planning to study or work in the United States will face increased financial burden as H-1B and other work visa fees will increase effective March 1, 2026. The fee hike will impact international students seeking employment opportunities post-graduation, adding to the overall cost of American education.
