CBSE Opens Recruitment 2026 for 124 Non-Teaching Positions

The Central Board of Secondary Education has started the online registration process for CBSE Recruitment 2026, according to the official notice released today. The application window opened on December 2 and will remain active until December 22, with both application submission and fee payment required by 11:59 PM on the same date.

Comprehensive Vacancy Details and Post Descriptions

CBSE has announced 124 vacancies across Group A, B, and C non-teaching posts covering diverse roles including Assistant Secretary (8 posts), Assistant Professor & Assistant Director (Academics) (12 posts), Assistant Professor & Assistant Director (Training) (8 posts), Assistant Professor & Assistant Director (Skill Education) (7 posts), Accounts Officer (2 posts), Superintendent (27 posts), Junior Translation Officer (9 posts), Junior Accountant (16 posts), and Junior Assistant (35 posts).

The recruitment encompasses a broad range of administrative, financial, and support functions critical to CBSE's operations, representing significant career opportunities for candidates with relevant educational backgrounds and experience.

Examination Pattern and Marking Scheme

The notification outlines a clear marking pattern for the Tier-1 examination, with each correct answer carrying three marks while one mark is deducted for every incorrect response. No marks are awarded for unanswered questions. Each question features only one valid answer, and marking multiple options results in an incorrect response, attracting a one-mark penalty.

Document Requirements and Entry Procedures

Candidates appearing for the examination must carry specific documents to the test centre, with entry denied without essential documentation. Mandatory documents include a printed copy of the admit card downloaded from the CBSE website, one passport-size photograph identical to the uploaded image, and an original, valid, non-expired photo identity proof such as a PAN card, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar card with photograph, E-Aadhaar with photograph, or a ration card bearing a photograph.

Candidates applying under the PwBD category must bring their disability certificate issued by an authorised medical officer, along with any required certificate related to physical limitation for writing and the prescribed Letter of Undertaking if using their own scribe.

Shortlisting Criteria and Final Selection Process

CBSE has detailed shortlisting criteria for Tier-2 and subsequent stages, with varying cut-off marks by category. For OBC and EWS candidates, cut-offs will be five percent lower than the unreserved category threshold, while SC, ST, and PwBD applicants receive ten per cent lower cut-offs. CBSE reserves the right to further reduce cut-offs if insufficient candidates in specific categories qualify.

However, no candidate securing less than 30% of the maximum marks in either Tier-1 or Tier-2 will be considered for final selection, regardless of category, maintaining minimum competency standards across all selections.
