Welcome to the BS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (BS DSAI) program at IITM Zanzibar Campus. Our program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the fast-paced and ever-evolving field of data science and artificial intelligence.

As a student in our program, you will embark on a comprehensive learning journey that blends foundational science and mathematics courses with specialised DSAI subjects. With a strong emphasis on practical experience and project-based learning, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to real-world challenges and gain hands-on expertise in data analysis, machine learning, natural language processing and more.

Furthermore, our program aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset, equipping you with the skills to launch your own data-driven startups or pursue advanced studies in data science and AI.

• Data analyst or data scientist in tech companies, consulting firms, and research organisations.
• Machine learning engineer or AI specialist in industries such as finance, healthcare, and e-commerce.

• Class 12 Examination recognized by the Central/ Indian State Board (CBSE, Matriculation etc.)
• Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (Form VI) with 3 principal passes in Natural Sciences
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination - Advanced (A) Level
• Cambridge International AS & A Levels
• International Baccalaureate® (IB) - Diploma Programme (DP)
• Any School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

• Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in high school level or its equivalent.
• Students who completed the qualifying exam from the year 2023 are eligible
• Students currently in Grade 12/Form VI or equivalent (Passing out in May/July ‘25)

• Per Semester: USD 6000
• Per Annum: USD 12000

• Students may choose on-campus or off-campus accommodation. Off-campus students needn’t pay the hostel accommodation & mess fee.
• Students living on or off-campus may use the dining facility on campus by paying the dining facility fee. Partial availing of the dining will not be permitted.

Candidates applying to the BS in Data Science & AI program will have to appear in the screening test. The screening test will be in English and consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs), multiple select questions (MSQs) and numerical answer type questions (NAT). Detailed instructions will be provided in the question paper provided during the exam. Candidates must follow the guidelines mentioned in the BS Admit Card.

The BS test will be of 3 hours duration, and it will be conducted only on Saturday.

For 2026, the screening test for BS will be conducted on the following days

• Time: 02:00 - 05:00 PM IST | 11:30 AM - 02:30 PM EAT

As a student in our program, you will embark on a comprehensive academic journey that combines foundational courses in science and mathematics with specialised subjects in chemical process engineering. With a strong emphasis on practical learning, you’ll gain hands-on experience through laboratory work, process simulations, and industry-linked projects. The curriculum offers flexibility through electives in areas like energy systems, data-driven chemical engineering, advanced materials, and environmental technologies, with students applying their knowledge in a final capstone project aligned with their interests.

The BS in Chemical Process Engineering program opens diverse career pathways across sectors such as oil & gas, manufacturing, energy, mining, and environmental sustainability. Graduates will be equipped with strong theoretical foundations and practical skills that make them industry-ready for both regional and global roles.

In addition to pursuing careers in core chemical industries, students will be well-positioned to contribute to sustainable industrialization, consultancy, research and development, and technological innovation.
