Life and Works

Life

P.K. Srinivasan (1924-2005) was a legendary math educator in India. With a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Master’s in Education, he dedicated four decades to promoting math education through activities and cultural integration.

Profile

PKS organized math camps, clubs, and conferences, inspiring both teachers and students. He believed in lifelong learning for teachers and integrated math into cultural programs. Known for innovative strategies, he fostered practical learning and evaluation of mathematics.

Contribution

Returning from Nigeria in 1981, PKS became a Mathematics Education Consultant for various organizations. He authored popular math articles for parents, children, and the general public in national and regional papers. He also encouraged schools to include math articles in their souvenirs.

Founder

As Academic Secretary of AMTI (1983-1991), PKS significantly increased the organization's visibility through his contributions and publications. He organized numerous math project expositions and fairs, particularly focusing on primary-level education and new topics like Fuzzy Logic and Fractal Geometry.
