Celebrating Excellence: India’s Best Teachers on Teachers’ Day 2024

Teachers’ Day, celebrated on September 5th, is a special occasion to honor the dedication and hard work of educators across India. This year, the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education has recognized 50 outstanding teachers with the National Teachers’ Awards 2024. These educators represent the pinnacle of teaching excellence, coming from diverse backgrounds and regions, and making significant contributions to the field of education.

Honoring the Best

The National Teachers’ Awards 2024 highlight the achievements of 50 exceptional teachers from 28 states, 3 union territories, and 6 organizations. Among the awardees, 34 are male, 16 are female, 2 are differently-abled, and 1 works with children with special needs (CWSN). This diverse group of educators has been selected through a rigorous three-stage selection process, ensuring that only the most dedicated and impactful teachers are honored.

The Award Ceremony

The award ceremony will take place on September 5th at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where the President of India will confer the awards. Each recipient will receive a silver medal and a certificate of appreciation, recognizing their invaluable contributions to education. In addition to the 50 teachers from the Department of School Education and Literacy, 16 teachers from the Department of Higher Education and 16 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will also be honored.
